Final Project
I have been thinking about the final project and trying to decide on a topic. I am not exactly an expert in any subject. I love to knit and crochet but I haven't done that in a while and am pretty much a novice. I love to read but let's face it who in this program doesn't? I have also been a vegetarian for the last 15 years. I am a lacto-ovo vegetarian which means I will eat eggs and dairy products, I don't eat any fish, poultry or red meat. Although lately I can't seem to eat eggs and have switched to soy milk. Which if you haven't tried soy milk I highly recommend it. So to make a long and rambling story short, I have been thinking about doing my final project on Vegetarianism/Veganism (sp?). It will give me an opportunity to explore different vegetarian/vegan options - vegan clothing, cruelty free make-up etc.

I liked your idea for your final project having to do with vegetarianism. I've been a vegetarian for the past 13 years and have been back and forth with what kind I've been over that period of time. I've tried being vegan several different times in my life, but found it very difficult, so I've been a lacto-ovo vegetarian most of the time too. However, recently in the past couple of years, I have actually started to eat fish because I had a health problem that required me to eat more protein...but I resisted having to do this for a year or so. I still like to consider myself a vegetarian, so I guess I'm now a lacto-ovo-pesco vegetarian although some vegetarians may disagree as to whether I really am one at all.
Looking forward to seeing what you come up with if that is the topic you decide to choose:)
Oh I am so torn! I was just reading the PeTA magazine and now I am again thinking about doing the final project on being a vegetarian.
I like to knit as well. I was thinking about doing something knit related for the final project, but I'm not sure what. Are you the one who was knitting a sweater for the baby? If you need any help I'd be glad to share what I know, which isn't a ton. If you are not the one who is knitting the baby sweater, than please disregard the comment.
Hi Brice,
I am the one knitting the sweater! And I would be happy for any help and advice thanks!!!
I would really enjoy seeing your site about veggie livin'. I have been a lacto-ovo veggie for about 14 years now (though I have to admit that did cheat occasionally).
It would be great to see some new recipes, you can never have enough recipes!
hi Christy
good luck on going the vegan route - my daughter (Kat)was a vegan for awhile - we bought veggie boots!! I found it a challenge but mostly because I was cooking for her, my mom and me and had to cook at least 2, sometimes 3 meals to satisfy us all. she is older now and on her own - she and her husband are mostly vegetarians rather than vegans
i am also a vegetarian! seems there's a bunch of us in this class.
